      Ruthenium catalysts give a high activity in the hydrogenation of aliphatic carbonyl compounds and aromatics ring in milder conditions without side reactions. When water exists in the system of the reaction, the catalysts give higher activity. The catalysts are stable in acid and base solvent, and they can be used for reaction in strong acid.
